Groundbreaking News in Lorain!
A New Era for Lorain Banking Access
On August 8, 2025, Achieve Credit Union officially broke ground on its new Lorain branch at 4207 N. Leavitt Road (OH-58). It's a project years in the making and designed to bring more convenience, accessibility, and visibility to members on Lorain’s west side.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together Achieve’s Board of Directors, leadership team, and Lorain branch staff, alongside valued project partners K4 Architecture + Design of Cincinnati and Williams Brothers Builders Inc. of Elyria.
“This project has been a long time coming,” said Bret Fisher, President and CEO of Achieve Credit Union. “We believe in showing up for our communities, and this new location is a lot more convenient to access for more people.”
Honoring a Vision and Legacy
The new Lorain branch project holds special meaning for the Achieve Credit Union family.
It was a vision shared by the late Neil R. Sommers, former CEO of Achieve Credit Union, who passed away unexpectedly in 2022 at age 74.
“This was a project held closely to Neil,” Fisher reflected. “We’re proud to see it moving forward.”
Designed for Member Convenience
The new branch will replace Achieve’s existing Lorain branch on Oberlin Avenue, bringing a modern, full-service banking experience to a fast-growing commercial corridor near Tower Boulevard and North Leavitt Road.
Key new features include:
Two drive-thru teller lanes for faster, more convenient service.
Drive-thru ATM with 24/7 access—features not available at the current Lorain branch.
Expanded teller stations and additional office space.
A modern lobby designed for comfort, efficiency, and accessibility.
“This branch gives us more opportunities to be visible in the community,” Fisher added. “It’s about making it easier for people to connect with us, and for us to get out there to do good things.”
Building for the Future
Construction is expected to begin in early September 2025, weather permitting, with completion slated for 2026. K4 Development Partners, also overseeing renovations at Achieve’s Elyria main office, is working closely with Achieve to create brand consistency across all locations.
“They are very progressive and forward-thinking,” said Jeff Klump, President of K4 Development Partners. “The strategy is to create brand consistency across all facilities. This is very efficient.”
Strengthening Our Mission in Lorain
For Jessica Wolfram, Chairperson of Achieve Credit Union’s Board of Directors, the new branch is about more than bricks and mortar—it’s a commitment to Lorain’s future.
“Our volunteer board members share a strong commitment to fostering community values and uplifting those we serve,” Wolfram said. “With exciting growth and revitalization happening across the city of Lorain, we want the community to know we’re here for you—now and always.”
